Tanker strikes underwater wreck, Bangladesh

Dec 2021: The oil transport Tanker, MT Monowara, struck an unmarked sunken wreck in the Mongla Port channel.

The vessels water tank burst and part of an oil tank was damaged in the collision. The Monowara was transporting 1,500 metric tons of furnace oil.

The owner of the vessel said “the accident happened because there was no marking of the sunken ship”
